A number of MPS members have contacted us as they have received letters from a firm of solicitors, Messrs BLM, in relation to expert work carried out on behalf of the National Health Service Litigation Authority (NHSLA).

The letter asks for members to agree to provide an indemnity to BLM in respect of any data security breaches relating to expert work carried out on behalf of the NHSLA.

Following contact by MPS on behalf of our members BLM have agreed to withdraw this letter, and you should receive confirmation of this from BLM in due course. In the meantime we strongly advise members not to enter into such an agreement with BLM without first contacting MPS for further advice.

We are very pleased to have been able to resolve this issue so swiftly with BLM.
