Dental Protection Limited
Dental Protection Limited is registered in England (No. 2374160) and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Medical Protection Society Limited (MPS) which is registered in England. Both companies use Dental Protection as a trading name and have their registered office at Level 19, The Shard, 32 London Bridge Street, London, SE1 9SG.
Dental Protection Limited serves and supports the dental members of MPS with access to the full range of benefits of membership, which are all discretionary, and set out in MPS’s Memorandum and Articles of Association. MPS is not an insurance company. Dental Protection® is a registered trademark of MPS.
MPS Risk Solutions Limited
MPS Risk Solutions Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Medical Protection Society (“MPS”)) is an insurance company authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.
In June 2012, MPS made the strategic decision that MPS Risk Solutions Limited would withdraw from the insurance market. All policies have now expired and the main purpose of MPS Risk Solutions Limited is to focus on providing the highest standard of service for claims management, in respect of those incidents that have been notified and accepted under policies that were previously in force.
Cognitive Institute
Cognitive Institute is a wholly owned subsidiary of MPS that provides education to health service organisations and individual healthcare professionals around the world.
Cognitive Institute’s portfolio of workshops, courses and programmes are designed and delivered by clinicians, for clinicians in the areas of:
- Clinical leadership
- Open disclosure
- Safety and reliability improvement
- Performance and professionalism
- Colleague interactions
- Patient communication
- Risk management
- Clinical supervision, teaching and mentoring.
The Institute is based in MPS’s Brisbane office and supports the development and delivery of member education.

MPS Foundation
The MPS Foundation, a global not-for-profit research initiative, is dedicated to shaping the future of patient safety and enhancing the wellbeing of healthcare professionals and teams. As an integral part of MPS, the MPS Foundation is committed to investing in research, analysis, education, and training which enables members to provide better care for their patients and improve their own wellbeing.
Our focus lies in supporting projects whose findings can be applied to public and private hospitals, outpatient practices, or dental care environments. The MPS Foundation is committed to funding both medical and dental research across all of MPS’ jurisdictions and has already funded research in 7 different countries and funded research that involved Members from across all MPS areas.
