We support the proposal that suspension from the performer’s list should be automatic if the practitioner is suspended by an interim orders panel (IOP) because:

  • The practitioner cannot work in any event whilst IOP suspended
  • It is logical and consistent for both suspensions to run in parallel and would create a clear process
  • It ensures that when suspended by the IOP, and consequently from the performers list, that a doctor is paid

We would also support the proposed change so that when applying for the performers list a person need not disclose a protected caution or protected conviction.
