Medical Protection has announced a major new partnership with two GP networks, which will provide healthcare professionals across 67 practices with access to indemnity and enable flexible working across multiple practice sites in Leeds.
The NHS Five Year Forward Plan has led to changes in the way primary care services are delivered, and this has resulted in new hubs, collaborations and partnerships which require flexible, bespoke indemnity arrangements which meet their needs.
The two new partnerships are with SEL GP Group, which is formed of 30 GP practices in South and East Leeds covering over 220,000 patients, and Leeds West Primary Care which is formed of 37 GP practices covering approximately 370,000 patients.
Last year Medical Protection also partnered with One Wight Health Limited GP Federation, one of NHS England’s vanguard sites offering joined up GP, hospital, community and mental health services.
Dr Rob Hendry, Medical Director at Medical Protection said:
“We know GP practices and other healthcare professionals are collaborating in different ways to meet the changing healthcare needs of their communities and respond to the desire for greater integration. At Medical Protection, it is right that we too adapt and respond to the changing environment and offer tailored solutions.
“We are delighted SEL GP Group and Leeds West Primary Care have chosen Medical Protection as their key provider of professional protection. We look forward to working with many more providers whose needs and circumstances are changing, and sharing our growing expertise in providing appropriate indemnity for what we recognise are complex organisations.”
Wendy Pearson, SEL GP Group, Director of Primary Care Development & Company
Secretary said:
“We wanted to ensure that every clinical staff – from the administrative and management teams to healthcare assistants and phlebotomists – have professional protection, even when they work across more than one practice. SEL GP Group discussed our requirements in details with Medical Protection and they made sound recommendations that enabled us to provide indemnity to members of staff under a single corporate policy.
“This partnership supports us in working at scale, delivering the best primary care services across various practices.”
