Our in-house experts assist with the wide range of legal and ethical problems that arise from professional practice. This can include clinical negligence claims, complaints, medical and dental council inquiries, legal and ethical dilemmas, disciplinary procedures, inquests and fatal accident inquiries.
As a DLC you will work closely with Case Managers, Case Management Assistants and Legal Advisers to manage a caseload on behalf of our members. This role will act as a specialist and point of escalation for requests for assistance from our members, and in turn contribute to delivering a world class service at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise members by telephone or in correspondence about a variety of complex dentolegal issues which have been escalated by other members of the case management team
- Provide advice and support to the Case Management and Advisory Case Management teams as a dentolegal expert
- Support the Case Managers in the proactive management of cases, and ensuring they are dealt with in a timely and effective manner for our members
- Work collaboratively with the wider teams and in-house Legal Teams when required
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Must have substantial experience as a Dentolegal Adviser and file handling experience
- A clear understanding of the legal and ethical principles that apply in relation to medical practice
- Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coach and mentor others, particularly regarding case management and dentolegal knowledge
