The Medical Protection Society was founded by a group of doctors in London, in 1892. They acknowledged that the professional environment was becoming more difficult, demonstrated by an increase in the number of high profile negligence and criminal cases. Recognising that strength in numbers could be mutually beneficial, they started the Medical Protection Society.
Today MPS is a membership organisation of healthcare professionals, providing comprehensive clinical indemnity and expert advice and assistance to more than 9,000 members in Singapore, and over 300,000 members around the world.
Since MPS launched in Singapore over 50 years ago, the medical profession has changed dramatically, but one thing has remained constant – doctors need support as much as ever. And there is no better protection for health professionals in Singapore than MPS.
